Serving Palmetto, FL

A Palmetto chiropractor worth crossing the river for.

Palmetto sits at the north end of Manatee County, on the far side of the Green Bridge from most of the county's specialty care. Our clinic is about 20 minutes south in Lakewood Ranch. People make that short drive because we keep spinal decompression, scoliosis bracing, regenerative medicine, hyperbaric oxygen, Class IV laser, and shockwave therapy in one building, with a doctor who has been practicing for 23 years and still does the exam himself.

Dr. Michael Banman adjusting a Palmetto patient inside the Spine and Wellness Center treatment room in Lakewood Ranch

Palmetto is its own town with its own pace. About 14,000 people, the working waterfront along the Manatee River, the old neighborhoods off 10th Street, and the newer rooftops out toward Artisan Lakes and Moccasin Wallow Road. What it does not have is a clinic that stacks more than one kind of treatment for a stubborn spine. Most chiropractic offices near you do adjustments and a heat pack, and for a lot of aches that is plenty. When it is a disc, or nerve pain that keeps you up, or scoliosis in a teenager, one tool is not enough.

That is the reason Palmetto patients head down I-75 to us. The first stop for most disc cases is non-surgical spinal decompression, computer-guided traction on a DOC-20 table that gently opens the space between vertebrae so a bulging or herniated disc can pull off the nerve. It is the single most effective non-surgical option we have for that kind of pain, and almost no office between here and the river runs it. If your back or leg pain has gone past the point a quick visit fixes, that page is where to look first.

Why Palmetto patients drive south

What you usually can't get north of the Manatee River.

Palmetto and Ellenton have good general chiropractors. What is hard to find up there is a place that runs several treatments side by side and picks the right one for your case instead of the only one in the room.

Non-surgical disc decompression

Computer-guided traction on a DOC-20 table. For a herniated or bulging disc, this is the treatment most Palmetto patients with sciatica or chronic low-back pain start with. Read how the program works on the back pain page.

Scoliosis bracing

Dr. Banman holds master-level scoliosis training and is one of a small number of chiropractors authorized to fit Spinal Technology, Inc. braces. Palmetto families with an adolescent or adult curve usually have to drive an hour to find this. You drive twenty minutes.

Regenerative medicine

Dr. Banman has worked regenerative medicine into the practice since 2013, with ongoing training and trips to Colombia for the newer protocols. It is the part of the clinic patients reach for when they want to look at options before they consider surgery.

Neuropathy program

Stacked care for peripheral neuropathy: ReBuilder, Class IV laser, EMS, and nutritional support working together. The goal is steady change over 8 to 12 weeks, and many patients report meaningful relief in that window. No surgery involved.

Auto and PIP cases

Rear-ended on US-41 or out on I-75 near the Ellenton exit? Florida PIP covers the first $10,000 of injury care no matter who caused the crash. We document it properly and start care fast so the claim and the healing both stay on track.

One sit-down, then a plan

Your first visit is a real consultation with Dr. Banman, an exam, X-rays if they are needed, and a recommendation based on your case. Some Palmetto patients need only adjustments. Others need decompression plus laser. We match the care to the problem.

Common questions

What Palmetto patients ask before they come in.

Is there a chiropractor in Palmetto, FL who does spinal decompression?

Our office is in Lakewood Ranch, about 20 minutes south of Palmetto on I-75. We run computer-guided spinal decompression on a DOC-20 table, which most Palmetto and Ellenton chiropractic offices do not have. If you have disc pain or sciatica, that is usually where we start. The decompression page walks through how it works.

How long is the drive from Palmetto to your clinic?

From downtown Palmetto, plan on about 20 minutes via I-75 south to Exit 217. From Ellenton it is a touch quicker since you are right by the interstate. From Terra Ceia, Rubonia, or the Snead Island side, add a few minutes, especially during season. There is free parking right out front, so you are not circling a lot when you arrive.

I was in a car accident in Palmetto. Does Florida PIP cover treatment?

Yes. Florida Personal Injury Protection covers the first $10,000 of injury care after a crash, regardless of who was at fault. We have 24-hour response on new auto cases and handle the paperwork. Call (727) 213-2982 as soon as you can, since the documentation and treatment timeline both matter for your claim. The auto-injury page lays out the whole process.

Do you take my insurance?

We are a cash-pay practice. The only insurance billing we handle is Personal Injury and auto-injury cases under Florida PIP. If you have commercial insurance or Medicare, you are still welcome and you pay cash. We tell you the cost before you commit to anything, and for most people the value of having several treatments in one place outweighs an in-network office that only adjusts.

What does the first visit look like?

About 45 to 60 minutes. You sit down with Dr. Banman, he does a real exam, takes X-rays if your case calls for it, and then you get a sample of the treatment so you can feel it before deciding anything. We schedule your second visit, the Report of Findings, within a day or two. The new patient walkthrough has the full step-by-step.
